In Moscow, the accused in NFT scam involving 670,000 USDT is arrested

A Moscow court remanded the accused in custody in a fraud case in which funds were raised under the guise of NFT investments, according to сообщили in the local prosecutor’s office.

According to investigators, the defendant met the victim at a business meeting and offered him to invest in NFT paintings by an artist known to the suspect, promising profits.

The deals were discussed via chat in messaging apps. In total, the victim transferred cryptocurrency twice, for a total of more than 670,000 USDT, after which the attacker ceased to respond.

Investigators are now determining the accused’s involvement in similar fraudulent schemes.
