On January 21, in Moscow, employees of the Rosseti Moscow Region branch detected a mining farm showing signs of unmetered electricity consumption. The company’s press service reported.
The farm, consisting of 50 servers, was located in a non-residential building in the Starokoptyevsky Lane area on a closed, guarded site. The owners connected the devices to a transformer substation themselves.
Preliminary measurements indicated that the equipment’s power consumption amounted to 130 kW.
Authorities are conducting a pre-investigation check and determining the amount of property damage caused.
The owners of the mining servers are being sought. If proven guilty, they face up to five years in prison.
Earlier, ForkLog reported that in Khabarovsk the owner of 220 ASIC miners reimbursed damages of 2.75 million rubles.
