Infura, a provider of infrastructure solutions for the Ethereum network, is experiencing service outages. This has caused delays in ETH and ERC-20 token quotes, and some exchanges have halted withdrawals.
The service outages began at 08:12 UTC on Wednesday, 11 November.
“Our main Ethereum network API is currently non-operational. The team is investigating the issue and working to restore service functionality,” wrote the Infura developers.

“We have allocated additional resources to the network for the affected components and are continuing to determine the root cause of the outage. Restoration work is ongoing,” added Infura representatives.
The MetaMask wallet, for which Infura is the primary service provider, is experiencing issues.
Binance halted withdrawals in ETH and ERC-20 tokens.
CEO Changpeng Zhao said the exchange was forced to restrict withdrawals due to “a possible Ethereum blockchain split” at block 11234873. He noted that blockchain explorers Etherscan and Blockchair show two different chains, but these discrepancies are likely also caused by Infura outages.
There was a possible ETH chain split at block 11234873. Etherscan and Blockchair are showing two different chains and data after this block. We’re resolving now but have temporarily closed withdrawals. Funds are #SAFU.
