Ingushetia’s Council of Ulama bans Muslims from cryptocurrency transactions

The Ingushetia Council of Ulama opposed Muslims undertaking any operations with cryptocurrencies, местные СМИ.

The issue of digital currencies was discussed at the council’s meeting.

“After a thorough examination of the issue and consultations, those present reached a unanimous conclusion that such actions are prohibited for a devout Muslim,” the council said.

Earlier, the Grand Mufti of Egypt asserted that trading Bitcoin contradicts Islamic principles.
