Interactive Brokers expands cryptocurrency trading

The brokerage firm Interactive Brokers announced that trading of digital assets has moved to 24/7 and that new coins have been added to the listing in addition to Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin and Bitcoin Cash.

Technical support is provided by Paxos. Fiat deposits are available during U.S. business hours.

“Clients have a simple and inexpensive way to access the crypto market at any time. With the added capability to pre-fund accounts, they gained greater flexibility in responding to market events and managing their risks,” said Steve Sanders, Vice President of Marketing and Product Development at Interactive Brokers.

Fees for digital-asset trades range from 0.12% to 0.18% of the trade value, depending on monthly volume, but not less than $1.75. There are no custody fees, and no additional spreads.

Interactive Brokers launched cryptocurrency trading in September 2021.

In July 2022, a similar service introduced the online broker M1 Finance.

Earlier, the addition of cryptocurrency trading was announced by competitor Avenue Securities.
