Invesco launches two blockchain-focused ETFs
One of the world’s largest investment firms, Invesco has launched two thematic ETF on the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE). Both funds are focused on the blockchain industry.
Partners of Invesco were the cryptocurrency trading bank Galaxy Digital and data provider Alerian, which in August 2021 introduced eight blockchain- and digital-asset-focused indices.
- Invesco Alerian Galaxy Crypto Economy ETF (ticker SATO) tracks Alerian Galaxy Global Cryptocurrency-Focused Blockchain Equity, Trusts & ETPs Index. The fund’s basket will include companies related to blockchain and mining, including developers of infrastructure solutions.
- Invesco Alerian Galaxy Blockchain Users and Decentralized Commerce ETF (BLKC) tracks the Alerian Galaxy Global Blockchain Equity, Trusts & ETPs Index. Its basket will include similar companies, as well as firms engaged in research and blockchain development not tied to cryptocurrencies.
Both ETFs also include a structure that directly holds physical cryptocurrency, according to the press release.
“This is another opportunity for retail and institutional investors to participate in the rapidly evolving and transforming world of digital assets. We look forward to further collaboration with Invesco and Alerian,” said Steve Kurtz, head of asset management at Galaxy Digital.
Earlier in August, Invesco filed to create a Bitcoin-strategy ETF.
