Invesco to launch fund for metaverse ecosystem investments

Invesco, one of the largest investment firms in the United States, has announced the launch of a fund to invest in companies focused on virtual worlds, according to Investment Week.

The size of the Invesco Metaverse Fund was not disclosed. It will focus on seven key areas:

“It is estimated that by 2030, virtual and augmented reality could contribute £1.4 trillion to the global economy,” said Tony Roberts, one of the fund’s managers.

In November 2021, Invesco announced the addition of Xetra from the Deutsche Börse group to the listing of a physically backed Bitcoin ETP.

Earlier, the company rejected launching a Bitcoin-futures-based ETF on the eve of the launch of a similar product from ProShares.

In May 2022, former Binance executives Lina Zhang and Wayne Fu created a $100 million multi-strategy fund focused on the metaverses.
