IOHK voices discontent over Cardano’s omission from Messari’s annual report
The president of IOHK, the Cardano-backed company, Tamara Haasen, asked Messari founder and CEO Ryan Selkis why the project was not mentioned in Messari’s latest annual analytical report.
Could you just take a moment @twobitidiot to explain this. And just be honest, why no mention? You won’t hurt our feelings.
Either way, #CardanoCommunity we have grown without support of the Crypto media, we will continue to. So proud of the work we do, let’s just keep building… https://t.co/H1rQYLjvht

She cited a post listing the number of mentions of cryptocurrencies within the project:
- Bitcoin — 178;
- Ethereum — 96;
- Solana — 65;
- BNB — 6;
- XRP — 3;
- Cardano — 0.
Could you explain this? And to be honest, why no mention? You won’t hurt our feelings. In any case, the Cardano community, we have grown without the support of crypto media and will continue to do so.
Selkis explained that the report covered ‘the top ecosystems by economic activity,’ omitting ‘a ton’ of projects. In other situations, Messari conducts excellent research on Cardano, he added.
It’s simple math. I find block space to be a commodity product and only covered the top ecosystems by economic activity. I omitted a TON of projects because the only chapter on Layer1s was 15 pages of a ~200 page report.
Our team otherwise does excellent research on Cardano.

Earlier in November, Charles Hoskinson sparred with the industry pioneer and CEO of Blockstream Adam Back over the decentralisation of Bitcoin.
Earlier, the founder of Cardano accused Ethereum of plagiarism after Vitalik Buterin presented a new proposal for blockchain decentralisation.
