According to auction data on the Ethereum-based Valuables platform, the buyer of the lot was Sina Estavi, founder of Bridge Oracle.

On March 6, 2021, Dorsey listed for sale a post with the text “Just setting up my Twitter” as an NFT. Tron founder Justin Sun offered $2 million for the lot.

The Twitter CEO said he would convert the proceeds from the sale into Bitcoin and donate them to charity. The recipient will be the non-profit GiveDirectly.

On March 15, Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk released a techno track about non-fungible tokens and said he would put it up for sale. A few days later the billionaire backed out of the idea.
