The entrepreneur quoted a tweet from a developer known as Calle, who described the potential integration as a “stunning proof of concept.”
“It would be perfect for electronic money, as Signal already provides an extremely confidential communication channel for exchanging tokens,” the programmer noted.
Other industry leaders, including Lightspark co-founder David Marcus, also supported the idea.
Agreed. All non-transactional apps should connect to Bitcoin and use it as TCP/IP for money. This is what we’ve been relentlessly building at @lightspark alongside industry peers, and it’s prime time. https://t.co/va63vwcqLx

Founded in 2014, Signal offers encrypted messaging, voice, and video communication services. Since 2021, the messenger has supported payments in the ERC20 token MobileCoin from the company Sentz.
According to some users, this initiative by the messenger has been unsuccessful.
However, critics pointed to Bitcoin’s low transaction speed, high volatility, and lack of privacy, suggesting the integration of privacy-focused Monero into Signal instead.
Back in April, one theory suggested that Jack Dorsey is the creator of Bitcoin under the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto.
