John McAfee says U.S. charges against him are politically motivated

Entrepreneur John McAfee, while testifying in a Spanish court, said the charges against him were politically motivated. The Associated Press reports this.

McAfee is convinced that if extradited to the United States, he will spend the rest of his life in prison.

In the coming days, a Spanish court will decide on extraditing the entrepreneur to U.S. authorities.

Earlier, the filed a lawsuit against McAfee for promoting ICO projects on Twitter, and the Justice Department brought charges of tax evasion.

Thereafter, the entrepreneur was arrested in Spain. He faces up to 100 years in prison.

McAfee called the charges ‘inflated’ and stated that the United States uses him ‘as a scapegoat to crack down on all cryptocurrencies’.
