“Justin Sun has filed a lawsuit against Bloomberg, claiming they intend to ‘recklessly and improperly disclose his highly confidential, sensitive, private, and proprietary financial information,’ obtained while verifying his assets for the Bloomberg Billionaires Index (BBI),” she wrote.
In February, journalist Muyao Shen suggested to the Chinese entrepreneur’s team that he be included in the ranking of the world’s 500 wealthiest people. The TRON founder was hesitant. However, after assurances that the files with cryptocurrency wallet addresses “would not leave the office” and would be accessible only to a select group of Bloomberg employees, Sun agreed.
According to the plaintiff, the editorial team intends to make the data public soon.
The businessman demanded a permanent injunction against the publication of information about his crypto assets, a jury trial, and reimbursement of legal costs.
In the lawsuit, Sun and his lawyers referenced Bloomberg’s materials on the wrench attack scheme—cases of physical violence to force cryptocurrency transfers.
Since the beginning of the year, 51 incidents have been recorded. The most notable were kidnappings in France, where victims had their fingers cut off, and an attack in Uganda, where a crypto project’s founder was forced at gunpoint to transfer $500,000. Previously, SatoshiLabs creator Alena Vranova stated that “at least one Bitcoiner is kidnapped somewhere in the world every week.”
Back in August, Sun completed a suborbital flight aboard a Blue Origin mission—Jeff Bezos’s company.
