Kazakhstan to host a 16 MW mining centre

The American mining firm Wattum Management, in partnership with Kazakhstan’s Enegix, will build a data centre with a capacity of 16 MW and a price tag of $2 million.

Construction is scheduled for July 2021.

The parties are also negotiating financing and construction of an additional facility with a capacity of 50 MW. Its estimated cost is $8 million.

The partnership will open up the US market to Enegix.

Earlier in September 2020, Enegix opened a data centre in Kazakhstan with a capacity of 180 MW. According to company representatives, the facility houses 50,000 Bitcoin miners, which account for more than 2% of the world’s hashrate.
