The bout ended in the first round. The Russian landed 98 strikes on his opponent and absorbed 65 in return. They used Oculus Rift virtual-reality headsets.
The fighters could not play as themselves — in the metaverse only characters from the film ‘Rocky IV’ are available. Nurmagomedov chose Apollo Creed, and Holloway chose Ivan Drago.
After the bout, the Russian said that it was interesting, but he was tired. According to Nurmagomedov, the metaverse is the future.

In April 2021, Nurmagomedov released his non-fungible-token collection to mark the end of his sporting career.
Earlier in February 2022, in the Decentraland metaverse, the first wedding took place. The ceremony involved a court representative, witnesses and about 2,000 guests.
