The cryptocurrency exchange Kraken has reached an agreement to acquire the futures trading platform NinjaTrader. The deal is valued at $1.5 billion.

According to the statement, the acquisition will bolster the exchange’s position as a 24/7 technological platform designed for professional traders.
“This deal is the first step in realizing our vision of an institutional-grade platform where any asset can be traded at any time,” the announcement states.
NinjaTrader was founded in 2003. It provides tools for futures trading and is registered with the CFTC.
In March, Bloomberg sources reported Kraken’s plans to go public in the first quarter of 2026 amid changes in cryptocurrency market regulation in the United States.
