Kraken launches new mobile app for US retail investors

Crypto exchange Kraken has launched a mobile app for retail investors in the United States. Since January 2021 it has been available in Europe.

The app is available for mobile devices on iOS and Android. It can be used by customers in 176 countries and 48 states, excluding New York and Washington.

The company noted that Kraken already has an app for professional traders. The new, simple-interface version is aimed at newcomers to the crypto industry.

The competitor Coinbase launched its mobile app in 2013. In May 2021 it took the top spot on the App Store in the United States for the first time since 2017.

In September 2020, the BitMEX crypto-derivatives exchange launched its own mobile app.
