
KyberSwap warns about fake compensation claims
The KyberSwap decentralized exchange team said that compensation messages following the breach are scams.

Representatives said that the KyberSwap profile can be spoofed to spread malicious links. They said updates on the situation are published only on the project’s official account.

The team also said it had contacted the owners of frontrun bots, which during the exploit drained about $5.7 million. The parties agreed to return 90% of the funds and a 10% reward.
The KyberSwap team has been in contact with the owners of the frontrun bots that extracted about $5.7M* worth of funds from KyberSwap pools on Polygon and Avalanche during the exploit.

The Elastic Pools liquidity pool hack, which saw the hacker drain about $47 million from the protocol, became known on November 23. He left a message with the transaction indicating an intention to start negotiations “in a few hours”.
Subsequently, the KyberSwap decentralized autonomous organization approached the attacker with an offer to return most of the funds by November 25 in exchange for a reward. It appears the negotiations did not take place.
In November, an unknown individual withdrew $25 million in cryptocurrency from the Taiwanese trading platform Kronos Research.
Earlier, on-chain sleuth ZachXBT suspected a theft of $2 million from the CoinSpot exchange as a result of the breach.
