According to Bubblemaps, in early March, rumors emerged in the community that Jordan Belfort—a well-known American broker, financial criminal, and the inspiration for “The Wolf of Wall Street”—intended to launch his own meme coin. Amidst this, numerous themed assets appeared on the market, yet “one stood out among the rest.”
Analysts noted the WOLF token, promoted by the popular X-account wallstreetbets.
The asset reached a capitalization of $40 million before collapsing. Experts recorded instances of sniping by developers and noted the consolidation of 82% of the supply.
By tracking the creator’s transactions, analysts identified the address OxcEAe, linked to Davis.
On March 13, lawyer Gregorio Dalbon requested a “red notice” from Interpol for the entrepreneur due to his role in the “troubled” meme coin LIBRA. The attorney stated that Davis has motives and means to evade capture, which would hinder the investigation by Argentine authorities.
Back in February, media reported that the US Department of Justice had launched an investigation into the role of Argentine President Javier Milei in promoting LIBRA.
