Lightning Labs Unveils Bitcoin Tools for AI

Lightning Labs has unveiled LangChainBitcoin tools that will enable AI developers to integrate Bitcoin payments into their solutions.

“The tools are built on the L402 protocol, Lightning Network’s own authentication mechanism, and Langchain, a popular library for simplifying work with AI agents,” according to the description.

LangChainBitcoin enables direct interaction with Bitcoin, balance management, sending and receiving cryptocurrency via the micro-payments network, and direct control of the LND node, the Lightning Labs team said.

According to the team, the boom in training large language models in AI has exposed a problem — when paying for services, projects have to rely on outdated methods such as credit cards. This drives up costs, which platforms pass on to users.

In the team’s view, Bitcoin is the native currency of the Internet, so its use will be entirely natural.

The LangChainBitcoin suite enables AI projects to implement a API with pay-per-use.

In June, the capacity of the Lightning Network reached new highs in dollar and cryptocurrency terms.
