
LinkedIn: Number of cryptocurrency-related job postings in the United States rose by 395%
In 2021, the number of cryptocurrency-industry-related job openings in the United States rose by 395%. Such data are provided by the professional networking platform LinkedIn.
The sample included job postings containing the words «bitcoin», «ethereum», «blockchain» and «cryptocurrency». Meanwhile, vacancies in the tech sector rose the most over the year, by 98%.
LinkedIn noted that although most vacancies are posted by software and financial-services companies, interest among cryptocurrency-related candidates was also seen in other sectors, including consulting, accounting, hardware, and recruitment.
In March 2021, JPMorgan opened 56 blockchain job openings. Some of them are related to the JPM Coin stablecoin.
In September, Moody’s Investors Service announced a vacancy for an analyst in digital assets and DeFi. Franklin Templeton, the asset manager with $1.4 trillion in assets under management, posted cryptocurrency-related vacancies — for an analyst and a trader.
In January 2022, Block (formerly Square) began hiring for teams developing an ASIC miner for a new generation and a hardware wallet for the next 100 million Bitcoin users.
