MakerDAO co-founder Nikolai Muchgian dies in Puerto Rico

According to authorities, a 29-year-old man living in San Jose was swept away by the current in the morning of October 28 at Condado Beach. When he was found, he was not showing signs of life.

Earlier in the day this programmer wrote a strange post on Twitter. He stated an intention for the CIA and Mossad to “torture him to death.”

Dylan LeClair of Bitcoin Magazine noted that Muchgian had already made similar threats.

Back in August, the MakerDAO co-founder suggested that he was being pursued by intelligence agencies because he “posed a threat to the cartel of central banks.” The alleged reasons for the suspicions included a string of incidents such as a tree falling near his home and a pipeline crash.

Founder of Cardano, Charles Hoskinson recalled that he knew Muchgian since the BitShares days.

«He was a very young and extremely bright man with a very wide range of interests, from game theory to Urbit,» Hoskinson added.

According to him, Muchgian had a good education and deep knowledge of blockchain technology.

Earlier in 2021, off the Pacific coast of Costa Rica the early Bitcoin investor Mircea Popescu drowned.
