The Nasdaq-listed Marathon Patent Group has agreed with Bitmain to purchase an additional 10,000 Antminer S19 Pro, says in a press release.

Delivery of the new batch of ASIC miners is expected in January 2021, and its installation is due by the end of the first quarter. After bringing flagship devices into operation, the total number will stand at 23,560.

“This will make us the largest independent miner in North America,” said Merrick Okamoto, the company’s chief executive.
\n
Earlier Marathon purchased 10,500 S19 Pro miners from Bitmain for $23 million.

Earlier in October Riot Blockchain placed an additional order for 2,500 Antminer devices with the equipment manufacturer.

By June 2021, the total number of ASIC miners under the company’s management will reach 22,640 units, and the hash rate will exceed 2 EH/s.
