This year, the Disney program focuses on augmented reality technologies, NFTs and artificial intelligence (AI).
Participants in the accelerator will receive guidance from the company’s senior management as well as from a dedicated mentor. Demonstrations of the initiative’s results will take place in autumn.
“For nearly a century, Disney has been at the forefront of using technology to create the entertainment of the future. Disney Accelerator is pleased to be part of this legacy, and with our latest class of companies we look forward to reaffirming our commitment to innovation and continuing to deliver magical experiences to Disney’s audiences and guests over the next 100 years,” said Bonnie Rosen, the program’s general manager.
Among the other participants in Disney’s initiative are the NFT app Flickplay, augmented reality platforms Red 6 and Obsess, and AI projects Inworld and Lockerverse.
In the 24 hours following the news, the Polygon (MATIC) token rose by 16.8%. Over the week, the asset gained almost 23% and is trading at around $0.64 (CoinGecko).
Earlier, nearly fifty projects from the Terra ecosystem that collapsed began migrating to the Polygon network.
