Media: App Store and Google Play add mobile wallet for the digital yuan

Chinese authorities have launched a pilot version of a mobile wallet for using the digital yuan. The app is already available in the App Store and Google Play app stores, BlockBeats reports.

The e-CNY app is now available on iOS and Android app stores.

According to the message, users can open a personal wallet, exchange and transfer e-CNY.

The initiative’s developer is the Digital Currency Institute of the People’s Bank of China.

To download the app, you must be physically located in one of its testing locations: Shenzhen, Suzhou, Xiong’an, Chengdu, Shanghai, Hainan, Changsha, Xi’an, Qingdao, Dalian, or the area hosting the Winter Olympic Games.
