The US arm of the cryptocurrency exchange FTX has asked employees to relocate to the new headquarters in Miami by mid-November. The Block reports.
According to sources cited by the publication, the company is seeking to consolidate staff in a single city to improve communication.
In late September, FTX US president Brett Harrison announced his resignation and transition to a consulting role at the company. FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried said the US subsidiary’s office would move from Chicago to Miami. The mayor of the city, Francis Suarez, welcomed the exchange’s decision.
In 2021, the arena of the NBA’s Miami Heat was renamed to FTX Arena until 2040.
In October 2022, Bankman-Fried spoke about the possible relocation of the exchange’s headquarters from the Bahamas to the United States.
