Passengers can have a natural conversation, get answers to questions, weather updates, control vehicle settings or their smart homes, the company said.
The beta feature is available in the United States for vehicles equipped with the Mercedes-Benz User Experience interface. Drivers can join the program by saying \”Hey, Mercedes\” or by registering in the Mercedes me app.
The company noted that ChatGPT will \”complement\” the existing voice-control function, expanding its capabilities.
\”ChatGPT uses a large language model to significantly improve natural language understanding and expand the topics it can answer,\” the manufacturer stressed.
The beta program will run for three months. After that, the company will decide on its future plans for developing the chatbot-based feature.
Earlier in April, Tesla chief Elon Musk announced the ‘most truthful’ alternative to ChatGPT.
