The flagship model will drop from $1,499.99 to $999.99. The Quest 2 price will be reduced by $70—from $499.99 to $429.99.
New prices for the lower-end model, as well as for the Quest Pro in the United States and Canada, took effect on March 5. The price of the flagship headset in the rest of the world will drop on March 15.
The Meta Quest Pro was introduced in October 2022, but the device’s high cost made it inaccessible to most consumers. The headset also did not have a clear path for professional use.

Presumably, the company hopes the lower price will make the device appealing to both audiences.
“Our goal has always been to make hardware accessible to as many people as possible so that they can enjoy all the benefits of virtual reality,” the company said.
In 2022 the company lost $13.7 billion in the Reality Labs segment. The division’s revenue in the fourth quarter was $727 million, and for the full year 2022 — $2.16 billion, including Quest headset sales.
In December 2022, Meta executives said that half of Reality Labs’ operating expenses goes to AR.
In July the tech giant reorganized its AI division, bringing the FAIR research group into Reality Labs.
