The company, together with Polygon announced the launch of an NFT marketplace in November 2022. Meta had said that collectible tokens could help creators earn money and build their own economy.

According to Kasriel, the company will now prioritise developing Instagram, in particular monetising Reels.

«We optimise transactions using Meta Pay, simplifying deposits and withdrawals, and we are investing in payments via in-app messaging within the company’s products», — noted he.

Kasriel added that Meta will continue to support “many NFT creators who are still using Instagram and Facebook to work”.
