Meta streamlines crypto advertising on platforms
Meta (formerly Facebook) сообщила about changes to its policy on the display of digital products toward greater transparency and greater consideration of business interests. This will allow advertisers to broaden their reach and attract more potential customers.
The company explained that the step reflects clearer regulatory rules taking shape for the crypto industry. Meta expanded the number of permissible licenses from three to 27. A list is provided in the corresponding section of the platform’s site.
In the future, instead of meeting the current assortment of criteria, advertisers will need to hold only one of these licenses. The number of licenses may grow as the regulatory framework continues to evolve.
Currently, such requirements apply to:
- cryptocurrency exchanges and trading platforms;
- platforms, apps or products that offer lending and borrowing of cryptocurrencies;
- wallets that enable buying, selling, exchanging or storing digital assets;
- hardware and software for cryptocurrency mining.
The announced changes will not affect existing partners.
In late October Facebook conducted a major rebrand — the company is now called Meta.
Mark Zuckerberg called the metaverse “the next stage in the evolution of social connections.” The project will support NFT, facilitating the sale of these digital assets and allowing them to be displayed in three-dimensional spaces.
