Meta to host VR concert of late rapper The Notorious B.I.G.

According to the company, at the event, where developers will recreate Brooklyn of the 1990s as the backdrop, the musician’s ‘hyper-realistic’ avatar will perform the ‘classics’ from Biggie’s catalog.

The show also includes performances by invited artists such as Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, founder of Bad Boy Records, and a narrative of The Notorious B.I.G.’s life by American journalist Toure.

However the company said that they had received the blessing of The Notorious B.I.G. Estate and dedicated the concert to the life and legacy of the performer.

Toure, who handles the show’s narrative, also interviewed the rapper’s mother. According to the journalist, he promised to ‘look after her son’s legacy’.

Horizon Worlds — Meta’s social universe, available to Quest VR headset owners. Those with the device will be able to watch the concert in virtual reality on December 16 and stream it to Meta Quest TV after the debut.

For those without a headset, a 2D version of the event will be available on the official Facebook page The Notorious BIG on Facebook.
