According to the announcement, the launch of SPACE ID Web3 Domain Snap will allow users to “replace a public wallet address with a simple, secure, and customizable domain.”
“Instead of a 42-character jumble of letters and numbers, where one mistake means complete loss of funds, SPACE ID users only need to enter a simple username to send digital assets,” the announcement stated.
The service supports all EVM-compatible networks. To install the solution, it must be added to the wallet’s modular extensions via Snaps.
MetaMask Product Lead Christian Montoya stated that the integration of Space ID will make sending and receiving cryptocurrency simpler and more secure.
SPACE ID already collaborates with major players like Binance Web3 Wallet, OKX Wallet, SafePal, and others.
In July, MetaMask developer ConsenSys acquired the cryptocurrency protection app Wallet Guard. The deal will help strengthen the extension’s security.
Prior to this, the wallet introduced “smart transactions” to protect against MEV bots.
