MetaMask warned about a new phishing bot
The developers of the Ethereum wallet MetaMask warned about the emergence of a new phishing bot that steals users’ secret phrases.
🚨PHISHING ALERT!: a new type of phishing bot is becoming active. 🎣
👨🏻Comes from an account that looks “normal” (but few followers)
📑Helpfully suggests filling out a support form on a major site like Google sheets (hard to block).

According to the post, the bot redirects users to a site allegedly belonging to the support service. They are asked to enter the secret recovery phrase to restore access to the wallet in a Google Docs form.
MetaMask said that they do not work with Google Docs. The developers recommended contacting specialists via the “Get Help” feature and reporting any suspicious activity.
Earlier, CipherTrace warned MetaMask users about an uptick in theft of funds carried out through clones of the project’s official site.
By the end of April 2021, the number of monthly active MetaMask wallet users reached 5 million.
