MicroBT unveils modular, water-cooled mining system
MicroBT has developed a modular Bitcoin-mining system with water cooling, a company spokesperson told ForkLog.
The hardware solution consists of three main components:
- An ASIC miner, the Whatsminer M53 or M3;
- a 19-inch server rack for housing them, as well as a distribution and cooling-control module (CDU);
- a heat-exchange system.
The company notes that the solution offers several advantages over air-cooled miners:
- improved operational stability;
- the ability to overclock devices to boost hashrate;
- the ability to utilise the dissipated heat.
In October 2022, MicroBT, together with Heat Core launched a pilot project in the United States for hydro cooling of mining equipment and recuperation of dissipated heat.
The Whatsminer M53 with liquid cooling, designed for mounting in server racks, unveiled in April last year.
