Similar to OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Copilot provides answers to questions, assists in drafting emails, summarises documents, and performs other routine tasks. It also includes an image generator powered by DALL-E 3.
Initially, the AI assistant was available in browsers such as Edge, Chrome, Firefox, and Safari, with later support for Android, iOS, and iPadOS. It is also integrated into Teams, Outlook, and other Microsoft applications.
Copilot requires a Mac with an M chip running macOS 14.0 or later.
The macOS version of Copilot features a dark mode and quick launch capability via the Command + Space hotkeys.
A few days before the release, Microsoft made the Voice and Think Deeper features free for all users. The former supports voice mode, while the latter is designed for deep reasoning.
In February, Microsoft announced its first quantum computing chip, Majorana 1. The company claimed to have “created an entirely new state of matter” — topological.
Previously, the corporation taught the Copilot AI assistant to understand contextual information from the computer screen while browsing the internet.
