Mining Farm Discovered at Smolensk State University of Sport

On the campus of Smolensk State University of Sport (SSUS) unknown individuals were mining cryptocurrencies. This was сообщили by the regional prosecutor’s office.

During the inspection, law enforcement officers found a rack of ASIC miners illegally connected to the power grid. The preliminary amount of damage exceeded 5 million rubles.

It is not yet known how long the farm operated on the university campus.

Earlier investigators opened a criminal case against the rector of SGUS Georgy Grets and one of his employees. They are charged with в растрате более 1,5 млн рублей.

Earlier this week, a court in Saratov fined 30,000 rubles for mining at the workplace.
