MIPT launches first doctoral program in distributed ledger technologies

The Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT) opens the first intake in a doctoral program on distributed ledger technologies.

University representatives said that the decision to create the program was made in response to the growing demand for qualified blockchain specialists from Russian business.

\n\n

“Industry partners of our department offer students complex applied and research problems in blockchain, located at the intersection of mathematics, computer science, economics and sociology. To solve many of them, specialists of a very high level will be required, whom the doctoral program will train,” noted Vladimir Gorgadze, head of MIPT’s Blockchain Department.

Classes will be held at the Phystech School of Applied Mathematics and Informatics.

\n\n

In 2019, MIPT, in partnership with Nornickel, introduced a master’s program in distributed ledger technologies.

\n\n

Earlier in July, Binance Academy and the Coursera online-learning platform announced the launch of comprehensive educational programs in blockchain, Web3 and crypto technologies.
