Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin believes that cryptocurrencies and stablecoins threaten the stability of the existing financial system. Об этом пишет Росбалт.
According to the prime minister, large digital giants creating digital platforms exert a negative influence on financial regulation in countries.
“Cryptocurrencies and all derivatives of digital financial assets, actively used by the younger generation, pose a threat to both central reserve systems, central banks, and financial institutions,” Mishustin said.
The prime minister believes that Russia should become a digital platform itself to withstand competition from IT giants.
“Digitalisation is a factor that in the 21st century affects all countries and without which it is impossible to continue developing,” he noted.
As noted previously, before taking office in January 2020, Mishustin identified the development of the digital economy as one of the main priorities of his work.
In April, he cut funding for the national program “Digital Economy” by 14.34 billion rubles.
In June, the prime minister pledged to allocate 20 billion rubles in support of IT companies.
