
More than 340 darknet ads offering COVID-19 vaccines for Bitcoin found
Fake listings for the sale of COVID-19 vaccines are circulating on the dark web, with payments requested in bitcoins. CNBC citing Check Point.

Experts found more than 340 such listings across 34 sites. Check Point estimates that as recently as December there were eight such pages.

The average price per dose has risen from $250 to $500 and even $1,000, researchers say. They attempted to purchase a vaccine by contacting one of the sellers on Telegram.

They were offered a Chinese-made vaccine for $750 in bitcoins. After the researchers paid, the seller’s account was deleted, and the order was never delivered.

Earlier in December, the cryptocurrency revenue of darknet markets exceeded $1.5 billion.
