The Moscow mayor’s office will refine the blockchain platform used in the ‘Active Citizen’ service. It will embed the Telegram messenger, according to «Ъ».

According to documents on the state procurement portal, 47 million rubles will be spent on upgrading the blockchain platform. The tender was won by MegaFon; the work is to be completed by August.

The essence of the upgrade is to integrate Telegram into the platform. The Moscow Department of Information Technology (DIT) said the messenger is needed to monitor the state of the blockchain system:

\”This is a common function, in which data about events in the system are transmitted as messages to a closed Telegram channel.\”
\n\n
Among the data to be transmitted are the number of data blocks generated over a period of time and the number of deployed blockchain network nodes.

The data of Moscow’s information systems users will not be sent to Telegram, the mayor’s office stressed.

According to a source familiar with the project, authorities want to add on the platform the ability to vote for owners of multi-apartment buildings through the Telegram bot ‘Electronic House.’ For this, users will need to register their Telegram account on the mos.ru portal, he added.

The electronic polling system ‘Active Citizen’ began operating on the blockchain in 2017.
