
Moscow Bitcoin investor alleges police extortion
In Moscow, two plainclothes police officers threatened a cryptocurrency investor and forced him to transfer Bitcoins worth 26 million rubles to them. This was reported by the Telegram channel SHOT.
According to the victim, in the Vykhino-Zhulebino district, two plainclothes officers attacked him. After putting him in handcuffs and placing him in a car, they said there was an open criminal case against the man.
Then they took the trader’s mobile phone and transferred 9.6 BTC (26 million rubles at the time of the incident) from the wallet.
The suspects were detained by the Internal Security Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. They face up to 10 years in prison.
