Mt.Gox Transfers $1 Billion in Bitcoin

The bankrupt exchange Mt.Gox has transferred 11,501 BTC (approximately $1.01 billion) to an unknown address and a company hot wallet, according to Arkham Intelligence.

On March 25, 10,608 BTC (around $927.5 million) were sent to “1DcoA…AWXFe”. An additional 893 BTC were transferred to the exchange’s hot storage.

Both amounts remain untouched.

At the time of writing, addresses associated with Mt.Gox hold a total of 35,583 BTC, valued at $3.09 billion.

The leading cryptocurrency is trading at $86,672, with a daily price decline of 0.2%, according to CoinGecko.

In May 2024, Mt.Gox for the first time in five years transferred $9 billion in bitcoin.

On March 11, the exchange transferred 11,501 BTC to “1Pazv…R9pYj”, approximately 332 BTC to a cold wallet of the trading platform, and another 332.059 BTC to “1HUa2…FguZQ”.

Previously, Mt.Gox management postponed the compensation date from October 31, 2024, to October 31, 2025.
