According to the statement, the breach occurred due to the compromise of a third-party data provider. The attacker seized the administrator panel through which account permissions were configured, the company said.
Nansen did not name the third party, but urged the responsible party to publicly disclose information about the issue. The firm noted that many Fortune 500 companies rely on services from this provider.
Users were advised to change their passwords and beware of phishing emails.
The Nansen team is currently conducting an investigation. Unauthorised access to the service has been temporarily suspended.
Earlier, the data breach was reported by the collapsed exchange FTX. Non-confidential information of some clients was obtained through restructuring agent Kroll.
In August, data from 100,000 X users who linked their account to the Web3-social network Friend.Tech were exposed.
