Ukraine has joined the European Blockchain Partnership as an observer

Ukraine has observer status within the framework of the European Blockchain Partnership.

It is expected that Ukraine’s accession will facilitate the integration of the country’s digital economic space with the EU.

The Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation, Alexander Borniakov, said that this will bolster work on implementing blockchain in public registries and services, and help create a “highly efficient regulatory environment” for the virtual-assets market.

Nansen unveils a Web3 messenger for the crypto community

Analytical company Nansen introduced the Web3 messenger Connect, with end-to-end encryption, aimed at participants in the crypto industry.

In a press release, the company emphasised that it regards the digital wallet as a form of identity, so authentication in the app will rely on blockchain addresses.

«With Connect, users will be able to log in with their crypto wallet, choose a name based on their wallet labels from Nansen, join groups that are built around data on holdings and on-chain activity, send private messages to other users, monitor real‑time statistics on key-collection and holdings», — the press release said.

France studies blockchain possibilities for selling tickets to the 2024 Summer Olympics

The French Olympic Committee explores the potential use of blockchain for selling tickets to the upcoming 2024 Olympic Games.

The interministerial delegate for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Michel Cadot, presented recommendations on selling tickets using DLT.

According to one proposal, fans could buy tickets via a special QR code. They would be non-transferable, and codes would be sent to users several days before the Games begin.

On entry to the venue and at registration, the ticket would be deactivated.

Cadot argued that blockchain usage would provide transparency and additional security.

The Central African Republic tokenises its natural resources

President Faustin-Archange Touadéra stated plans to tokenise the country’s natural resources.

Under the Sango project, access to tokenised assets will be granted to companies tied to the crypto industry and “establishing a presence in the country.”

The CAR possesses substantial natural resources—diamond, uranium, gold and oil deposits. Yet it remains one of the poorest countries in Africa and in the world overall.

Nigerian Stock Exchange NGX to integrate blockchain by 2023

NGX Group plans to integrate blockchain by 2023 to attract new investors to the market.

The CEO of the exchange, Temi Popoola, expressed hope that the technology could be used in settlement of trades. He sees the innovations as attractive for “young and promising Nigerians.”

Popoola believes scalable blockchain can raise the speed, security and transparency of trades, and reduce counterparty risk.
