NEAR Foundation to host hackathon with $1 million prize pool

The nonprofit organization NEAR Foundation announced the hackathon MetaBUIDL with a prize pool of $1 million. Offline events (Hack Nodes) will take place on August 27 and September 12 in Bogotá, Kyiv, Lisbon, Mukachevo, New York, Beijing, Nigeria, San Francisco and Hangzhou.

The theme of the hackathon is the interaction of Web3 technologies with work and entertainment. Organisers will award $1 million to winners across five categories:

  • challenges from hackathon partners;
  • local Hack Nodes prizes;
  • prize for the best project;
  • challenges in DeFi, ecosystem management and building business processes;
  • challenges in arts, games and entertainment.

In addition, MetaBUIDL winners will be able to receive development funding from judges — venture investors and NEAR ecosystem funds: Open Web Collective, NEAR Foundation, NEAR Asia.

To participate in the hackathon, you need to register on the MetaBUIDL page. You can join a development team via the service
MetaBUIDL Team Matching.
