The Aave DeFi platform community has launched a Temperature Check procedure for the integration of the second-layer solution Base from Coinbase.
The initiative was proposed by Francis Gowen, a delegate and participant, as well as a protocol specialist at analytics firm Flipside Crypto.
“Temperature Check” is intended to solicit community feedback. If there is high engagement from participants, the proposal will move to the next stage for further discussion and assessment of risk parameters. In due course, it will be put to a final vote.
Gowen noted that integrating Aave v3 with Base would generate substantial revenue streams and provide access to a large user base. The latter is evidenced by the active work of developers within Coinbase’s Base ecosystem, he explained.
The expert noted that on Base’s testnet, 18,000 developers have deployed 55,000 smart contracts.
The Aave proposal appeared a week after the emergence of a similar initiative in the Uniswap community.
Earlier this week, developers revealed details of the Base mainnet launch.
In March 2023, the team outlined priority directions for developing Coinbase’s ecosystem.
On May 8, the third version of Aave was launched on the L2 network Metis Network.
A month earlier, the community of the decentralized lending service expressed support for deploying the third version of the protocol on the zkSync Era network.
