The Latvian airline airBaltic has added the option to pay for tickets using Ethereum, Dogecoin, Bitcoin Cash, USD Coin, Binance Dollar, Gemini Dollar and Paxos.
In 2014, airBaltic became the first airline in the world to add Bitcoin as a payment method.
“About 1,000 customers have used this option since its integration,”, said the carrier’s chief, Martin Gauss.
Ticket prices are denominated in euros. BitPay handles automatic conversion of cryptocurrencies to fiat at purchase.
As reported in January, the Travala blockchain hotel-booking service added Tezos to 30 other cryptocurrencies for the payment of 3 million travel product options.
