AMC, the largest cinema chain, weighs issuing its own token

The American cinema chain AMC Theatres is exploring the possibility of creating its own token. This was stated by the company’s CEO, Adam Aron, in an interview with CNBC.

He said the token is among half a dozen ideas the company is pursuing at the moment.

Over the past few months we have stirred up a lot of noise about the hype surrounding cryptocurrencies. There are many reasons why AMC could succeed in issuing a token, the executive stressed.

In August AMC announced the sale of tickets for Bitcoin, and in September promised to implement support for Ethereum, Litecoin and Bitcoin Cash.

In October, the company added the ability to pay with Dogecoin. At the same time, AMC introduced digital gift cards with a denomination of up to $200. They can be purchased with cryptocurrency via the BitPay wallet.
