Unknown actors calling themselves the Anonymous group posted a YouTube video criticizing Tesla and SpaceX founder Elon Musk for his influence on Bitcoin.
The authors claim that Musk, manipulating the market via Twitter, “is destroying” the lives of ordinary people.
“Millions of retail investors were really counting on their cryptocurrencies to improve their lives”, the video says.
The video recalls a number of claims that have been voiced about Musk’s business in the media. Among them are the use of government subsidies, игнорирование эксплуатации детского труда при добыче лития, широко применяемого в аккумуляторах электромобилей, and the desire to become famous by sending people to Mars, who, according to journalists at Entrepreneur, would die there.
The authors attribute Musk’s popularity to his pursuit of a world with electric cars and space exploration that many want, as well as his ongoing trolling of the cryptocurrency market.
“But lately your meticulously crafted public image has begun to crack, and people are starting to see in you nothing more than another rich narcissist who desperately craves attention,” said the anonymous creators of the video.
The authors ended with a veiled threat:
“You may consider yourself the smartest, but now you’ve met your match. We are Anonymous! We are Legion. Expect us.”

Elon Musk did not directly respond to the video, but posted a tweet:
“Don’t kill what you hate,
Save what you love”— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) June 5, 2021
As reported, the price of Bitcoin fell more than 5% after another tweet by Elon Musk mentioning digital gold.
