Anonymous User Transfers 26.9 BTC to Satoshi Nakamoto’s Wallet
On January 5, an anonymous user transferred 26.91 BTC (nearly $1.2 million at the time of writing) to the wallet of Bitcoin’s creator, Satoshi Nakamoto.
The sender’s address was funded from three sources, reports The Block. Most of the funds came from a wallet identified by Arkham Intelligence as belonging to Binance.
At the time of writing, the genesis wallet holds 99.67 BTC, valued at approximately $4.4 million. The assets have remained unmoved since Bitcoin’s creator disappeared in December 2010.
Maybe some sort of weird ETF marketing scheme? ?♂️

“Either Satoshi woke up, bought 27 BTC on Binance, and transferred them to his wallet, or someone just burned a million dollars,” wrote Coinbase director Conor Grogan.
He also speculated that it might be “strange marketing” related to the potential approval of a spot Bitcoin ETF.
In October 2023, Casa co-founder Jameson Lopp argued against the theory that Bitcoin pioneer Hal Finney was the creator of the first cryptocurrency, Satoshi Nakamoto.
