Another Coinbase top executive leaves the Bitcoin exchange
The head of Global Marketing at Coinbase, John Russ, announced his resignation.
In light of the decision @coinbase employees were asked to make by October 7th, I have decided to leave Coinbase. In my time leading Global Marketing, I have been fortunate to work alongside many great people and teams, especially our Global Marketing team. I wish all well!

Russ clarified that he is leaving the post due to the company’s apolitical mission. He joined at least 60 Coinbase employees who did not accept the updated policy of the exchange’s chief executive, Brian Armstrong.
Earlier, the exchange’s CEO proposed that employees who did not back the company’s decision to refrain from discussing political and social issues resign by October 7. They would receive four months’ severance and six months of insurance coverage.
Earlier in October Coinbase left the chief of regulatory and compliance oversight Jeff Horowitz. The reasons for the top executive’s departure were not disclosed.
